Sorry, We’re Close!
October 24, 2009This past few weeks have been challenging to most of us, especially those who were affected by the flood caused by typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng.
While we were helping in the packaging of some relief goods in one office, we just can’t help but noticed that some of the employees are taking some of these goods for their own even if they were not affected by the flood at all. It is so sad to see people like this. We really don’t know if they are there to help or are they there to find some goodies. One of the employees even offerred another employee one of the goodies because it is really that good. This other employee refused to accept for a very striking good reason. That is, “Sorry, we’re close!” while pointing to heaven. He is a Christian and he is very close to God. He is so close to God that he cannot take what is not intended for him.
If everyone would be that close to God, this world would be a very wonderful place to live in. No robbing, no cheating or any form of corruption, etc. All that we would be doing are things that would please God. This may sound impossible. But nothing is impossible if we think that “impossible is nothing”. If we cannot convince others through words, let’s show them through actions just like what the good employee did.

I may not be that close to God but I don’t think I have the courage to get what isn’t mine. I feel sad for that kind of person
