Following Christ is not as easy as just hearing mass regularly or just helping the needy. Following Christ requires more. It may sound so difficult. But actually, it is!
Following Jesus requires denying our self and taking up our cross (Luke 9:23). This means total surrender to God; forgettting who we are (i.e., our profession, our educational attainment, etc.), what we have accomplished, and do whatever is His will. His ways are not easy and we still continue to struggle to follow Him. We asks for His help because we cannot do it alone. But no matter how difficult it is to follow Christ, we just bear in mind that the body cannot be happy if the soul is miserable in the other world; but the soul may be happy though the body is greatly afflicted and oppressed in this world.
